I had no idea it would effect my sound card or the drivers but apparently it did. Beyond that, I don’t know. For future reference, a program called Belarc Advisor “builds a detailed profile of your installed software and hardware, missing Microsoft hotfixes, anti-virus status, Center for Internet Security benchmarks, and displays the results in your Web browser. I showed my work to help you see the path I took. Given no make or model in your post I can’t tell you much more. I’ll try your links and want to say thanks again for helping!

If this is some self built machine then we would use the make, model, revision of the motherboard. Thanks Bob and your advice will be followed to a tee!

Go to device manager see “help and support” for instructions and right click the sound chip and choose “update driver”. Proffitt Forum moderator October 5, 1: Just wanted to let you know what the problem was.

If this doesn’t work write down the information you find there it’s name and possible its maker and do an online search m61zme the manufactures website to find the most current driver for the sound chip. Thanks for all your support guys!!
