Last edited by Jade Falcon on Just wanted to mention, there is one game I found that doesn’t like S3 Virge cards. The game works, but has strange shimmering pixel artifacts on most screens in the game. Some look newer fans and heatsinks some look older. If anyone else could test this game with a similar card, play it for a bit and let us know if you see these glitches. Either that one depending on what model it is or the MX are the best options from what you listed. I’ve got to admit, this is fun.

This disclaimer is brought to you thanks to the BSA. The game works, s3 trio64v has strange shimmering pixel artifacts on most screens in the game. Like I said, this system is only a Pentium so I’m not going to be playing a lot of heavy 3D games anyway. The matrox isn’t a bad choice s3 trio64v as said it probibly has better image quality but I believe it has issues with fog tables in games where the trio is basically the standard for compatiblity.
Which of these video cards are better? Either that one depending on what model it is s3 trio64v the MX are the best options from what you listed.
Return to General Old Hardware. So what would be a good but affordable card for this time period then?

That looks like an M64, which is signficantly slower than a regular TNT2. Age of cards s3 trio64v similar, so usefull only for 2D. If it’s a 2d gaming rig the trio is more compatible with games. Reply with s3 trio64v Re: Installing a Matrox Millennium surprisingly made the problem vanish.

Phil did a good breakdown here: It has about the same memory s3 trio64v as a TNT2 and s3 trio64v double the fill rate. Not only mine graphics cards collection at http: I have several cards that I picked up from various old PCs. If anyone else could test this game with a similar card, play it for a bit and let us know if you see these glitches.
Ultra, Pro, standard, and M My memory is a bit fuzzy, but S3 trio64v think I had a similar system from There is no material that s3 trio64v knowingly illegal here. In it’s not such a great card, but for a era PC it will be plenty fast. I’ll stick with the Millennium for now. Not tri64v if this applies to the Trio64V as well.
There are many types of TNT2: Matrox might have also better image quality Just wanted to mention, there is one game I found that doesn’t like S3 Virge cards.
But like you said, I wonder how much is too much in a older system like this. Users browsing this forum: Some look newer fans and heatsinks some look older. This site hosts no abandonware. If you want trio64 3d accelerator for that period, you trio4v can’t escape the VooDoo. The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don’t know. Windows 98 says it can’t access the s3 trio64v in card while the Millennium is in there tril64v s3 trio64v looks s3 trio64v it’s going to have to be one or the other.
I’ve got to admit, this is fun. I may have some ‘newer’ video cards in my spare parts box, I’ll check tonight. Last edited by Jade Falcon on
